Revisional Cosmetic Breast Surgery
As cosmetic breast surgery becomes more common in our country, the number of women seeking revisions and improvement to their breast aesthetic is increasing. Now that silicone implants are available for cosmetic breast surgery, many women want their saline implants exchanged for newer generation silicone implants, which have improved shape and tactile qualities. Other women have scarring or capsular contracture that they want improved. Sometimes implants rupture and need to be removed and replaced.
One thing that women who are contemplating cosmetic breast surgery need to recognize is that almost all patients will have a revisional breast surgery to maintain their desired look at some point in life. In general, these procedures are not covered by insurance. In many cases, surgery to manage implant rupture, leak or failure is partially covered by the implant manufacturer.
Please have your implant information and past medical records in hand when you meet with our staff. We are happy to process any guarantee paperwork to see if your surgery is partially covered by a manufacturer’s warranty.
