Breast Reduction

A breast reduction is a surgical procedure that reduces the breast volume or weight and repositions the nipples. The result is an aesthetically pleasing breast that is lighter and has a better shape. For many women with heavy and pendulous breasts, neck pain, back pain and headaches are frequent complaints. A breast reduction may significantly improve these complaints. This operation has best results for women that are close to their ideal body weight. It is not performed for patients that are actively smoking.

A breast reduction historically has been considered a reconstructive procedure, which insurance companies would often cover as an approved benefit. Times are changing, and insurance companies have grown more restrictive about covering this surgery for women. We will process the insurance paperwork for you and attempt to obtain a pre-approval letter before surgery. In many cases however, a breast reduction of is not covered by insurance. In these cases, you would pay the fees for the procedure prior to surgery.
